Tips to Maintain Your Carpet Between Professional Cleanings

As we’ve mentioned before on the blog, professional carpet cleaning should be done at least once a year. It not only keeps your carpet fresh and clean, but it also extends the life of your carpet. But what can you do the other 364 days of the year to keep your carpets in tip-top shape? Here are a few tips on how to maintain your carpet between professional cleanings. Leave your shoes at the door Your shoes track a lot of dirt, mud, pollen, and other grime into your house and onto your carpets, often getting ground in and trapped in the carpet fibers. The pollen can cause allergies to flare up, and can even affect those with asthma. The germs, bacteria, and viruses in the mud and dirt can also cause respiratory problems if inhaled. You can prevent outdoor grime from getting into your carpets by taking off your shoes when you come inside. Step into a pair of slippers – or just walk around in your socks or bare feet – and you’ll be doing a lot to keep your carpets much cleaner (you’ll be keeping your indoor air healthier, too!). The carpet cleaner will wear their shoes in the house during the professional cleaning.  Don’t forget your furry friends Humans are not the only ones who track in dirt and mud from outside – our pets, do so, as well. Make sure to wipe off their paws when they come in from outdoors, whether or not it’s been raining or snowing. You’ll be thankful you gave their paws a good wipe-down the next time they get up on the furniture! Wipe up stains, spills or other accidents immediately Be sure to clean up any stains, spills or other accidents right away – the longer you wait, the much harder it will be to remove any stains that set in. There are a variety of DIY solutions available for simple stains – check out our handy tips for removing stains at home here.  Note: You should not attempt to clean stains from fragile or antique rugs yourself – these require professional handling. Vacuum weekly Another tip for keeping your carpet clean between professional cleanings is to vacuum regularly – at least once a week. And don’t forget to vacuum the upholstery and curtains, as well – dirt, dust, dust mites, viruses and bacteria can hide in the fibers. These contaminants can reduce the quality of the indoor air, possibly resulting in allergy attacks and other respiratory problems in those who are susceptible. We know vacuuming is not a fun job, but it’s necessary to keep your carpets clean! Following the above carpet cleaning tips will help keep your carpets fresh and beautiful, but it’s not quite enough – don’t forget to get them professionally cleaned at least once a year. Even if they’re not stained or visibly dirty, professional carpet cleaning rids your carpets of any deep-down dirt, germs, and dust mites that can cause health problems and shorten the life of your carpet. If it’s been over a year since you’ve had your carpets professionally cleaned, contact us today, and we’ll get them clean and fresh in no time!

Are Your Carpets Making You Sick?

Carpets can make a home look beautiful and feel welcoming – after all, who doesn’t love to take their shoes off and let their feet sink into a warm, cozy carpet? If they’re not being kept clean, however, your carpets can make you sick by trapping a variety of contaminants that can lead to allergies and other illnesses. Contaminants You Can See… Carpet fibers can trap dirt, mud, pollen and other contaminants from outdoors that can cause allergies. Heavy foot traffic can grind the soil deep into the carpeting, making it extremely difficult to remove no matter how often you vacuum. Pollen can be especially troublesome during certain seasons of the year, and it can trigger asthma symptoms, as well. This is why professional carpet cleaning is a must if you suffer from allergies or asthma! Moisture is another issue that can cause problems with maintaining a healthy indoor environment. If your carpets get wet and don’t dry quickly enough (or at all), the remaining moisture can cause mold and mildew to grow. Mold and mildew release spores which can be inhaled, often triggering allergic reactions. Symptoms may include excessive coughing and sneezing, or even eye irritation and difficulty in breathing. This is why it’s so important to blot and dry any spills on your carpets – you definitely don’t want mold and mildew to get a foothold! …And Those You Can’t Dust mites are also an issue when it comes to keeping your carpeting clean and healthy. What are dust mites, you ask? They are very small (too small to see with the naked eye), insect-like pests that feed on dead human skin cells and prefer warm, humid environments. The protein-based allergens they produce can trigger mild to severe allergic symptoms and can be responsible for asthma attacks. Dust mite allergens don’t typically stay in the air – instead, they settle within dust or fabrics. Common places for dust mite allergens to hang out include mattresses, bedding, curtains, upholstered furniture – and carpeting. If you’re at all concerned about dust mites, regular carpet cleaning (beyond vacuuming) is a must! Dust mites aren’t the only contaminants that you can’t see that may be hiding in your carpets – germs, bacteria, and viruses can all become trapped in carpet fibers. Breathe them in, and you could become sick from any number of diseases before you know it! Eliminate All Kinds of Contaminants from Your Carpets with Professional Cleaning There’s no doubt about it – if you want to stay healthy, you need to have your carpets professionally cleaned at least once a year, or even more often if you have asthma or other respiratory problems, or are prone to allergies. At A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning Services, we use a powerful truck-mounted steam cleaning system that can rid your carpets of all kinds of dirt, dust, and contaminants. The steam used is heated to 230 degrees Fahrenheit –  hot enough to kill 98% of the germs, bacteria, and viruses hiding in your carpets. Professional carpet cleaning can make all the difference when it comes to improving indoor air quality. You can literally breathe easier knowing that your carpets are deep-down clean, fresh and free of contaminants. If you’re in the Littleton or Denver area and it’s been more than a year since your carpets were professionally cleaned, call us today – your health depends on it! Remember at A Personal Touch, we don’t cut corners, we clean them!

Home Services: Which to Spend Money on, Which to Add to Your DIY List

Guest post by Teri Silver, Featured Image source. Deciding which home services you can do yourself and when to hire a professional will save you a lot of grief (and some money) in the long run. Make a list of the improvements, maintenance, and upgrades your home needs and whether you can realistically DIY any of them. When to Hire a Professional The rule of thumb is measure twice, cut once, then call in a professional. When it comes to dangerous tasks, you may want to skip the first two steps. Electrical Needs Circuitry is technical, confusing, and potentially dangerous work if you don’t know what you’re doing. High and low-voltage systems are nothing to fool with, especially in older homes. Before signing a contract for electrical services, get cost estimates in writing. The actual costs may be higher or lower, depending on the “official” diagnosis. Write down the specific problems before calling the technician. You can sometimes lower the cost by making things easy on your service professional. Provide easy access to the electrical panel box Be ready to pay the bill at the time of service Get the final bill in writing. Heating and Air Conditioning Unless you have professional training and certification, heating and air conditioning are not something to DIY. Sure, it’s OK to change a filter in your system, but furnace flue pipes that transfer toxic gases may become corroded and leak. Combustion chambers can shut down. If you don’t know what you’re doing, the cost of fixing your mistakes can be much higher than if you hired someone in the first place. Central air conditioning systems are made up of coils, fins, filters, and other components that can drive a novice crazy. Maintaining window air conditioners is easier for DIYers, but it’s best to hire an HVAC company that will:  Clean and tighten terminals and connections Add refrigerant Inspect for leakage and dried seal ducts Measure airflow Adjust the thermostat Grease up motors Replace cracked belts. It may seem strange to fuss with the AC during a cold and snowy Colorado winter. Calling a technician sooner than later — when they’re not so busy — can save you money and have your system ready for the summer.   Plumbing Changing a toilet seat or tweaking the flusher is easy, but messing with heavy clogs, broken pipes, sewer odor, water leaks, and the lack of hot water is a job for a professional. Frozen pipes can lead to serious damage. Be ready to hire a plumber when you hear loud noises in the pipes.   Gutters and Roofing Is your life insurance policy paid up? Because climbing a ladder to clean out the gutters is a safety risk. Consider purchasing a protective system to keep fallen leaves and debris out of gutter lanes. If that’s not in the cards, hire a handyman (who’s  bonded and insured) to do the job.      Roof surfaces are angled; even the slightest tasks are dangerous. Roofing inspectors will check on and repair loose rubber, damaged flashing, shingles, and missing mortar. Do It Yourself? Inside Cleaning Deep indoor cleaning is something most people can do themselves. Washing windows, scrubbing bathrooms, and polishing appliances is something you can accomplish in an afternoon. But when it comes to getting your home ready to sell, having the carpet or hard floor surfaces professionally cleaned lets your buyers see themselves in a more pristine environment. Besides, it’s easier than renting one of those heavy machines you don’t know how to use. Those machines often leave a film on your carpet that attracts more dirt.    Lawn care Hiring a company to treat your sod for weeds is cost-effective, especially if you have more than an acre of grass to cover. And lawn care mistakes like applying too much fertilizer can be expensive to fix.  You can save more than a few bucks by weeding flower beds, pruning bushes, and mowing your lawn before bringing in a pro to take care of the edging, aerating, and fertilizing. Doing small household chores yourself (or getting your kids motivated to earn a few bucks) is a way to save money. But sometimes, it’s better — and safer — to let the pros handle the big stuff.  Teri Silver is a journalist and outdoor enthusiast who spends her weekends mowing her 5-acre lawn. Why Professional Carpet Cleaning Is a Must for Homeowners

We spend a lot of time keeping our homes clean and presentable – after all, our home is our sanctuary, so we want it to be a healthy place to live. Vacuuming our carpets is a task most of us do regularly, but is it enough to keep our carpets clean? Not by a long shot! Professional carpet cleaning is not just a luxury, it’s a necessity. Homeowners should make professional carpet cleaning a priority to protect their investment, prolong the life of their carpets, and improve their indoor air quality. Whether you just moved into your home or you’ve been living there for years, professional carpet cleaning is a must to ensure that your carpets are truly clean. New Home, Old Carpets Are you a new homeowner? The carpets in your new home may look clean, but there are likely to be hidden dirt, mud, stains and allergens present from previous owners. Who knows what they were tracking into the house and onto the carpets! Get rid of those nasty old stains and stinks from past tenants by having the carpets professionally cleaned before you move in.  If, on the other hand, you’ve been living in your home for several years, you still need to have your carpets professionally cleaned regularly. No matter how often you vacuum, dirt can collect in the carpet fibers, causing unnecessary wear and tear and shortening the life of your carpets. Professional carpet cleaners have the experience and equipment to deep clean carpets, removing all the dirt, dust, and stains that have built up over time.  Improves Indoor Air Quality In addition to extending the life of your carpets, professional carpet cleaning can also improve your indoor air quality. Carpets can trap allergens and other airborne contaminants, which can worsen allergies and respiratory problems. Professional carpet cleaning removes these contaminants from your carpets, leaving your home more comfortable and safer for everyone. You’ll be able to breathe easier knowing that your home’s air contains fewer allergens and contaminants! Professional Steam Cleaning to the Rescue Nearly all carpet manufacturers recommend having your carpets professionally steam cleaned at least once a year. In fact, many stain-resistant manufacturer warranties require professional cleaning at least every other year. Standard industry guidelines call for using steam cleaning water that is heated to 125 degrees Fahrenheit.  Here at A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning Services, we go above and beyond the industry standard – we use water heated up to 230 degrees Fahrenheit. This is hot enough to kill 98% of household germs. Your carpets will be super clean and fresh after we get done cleaning them! Carpeting generally lasts 10-15 years, but with regular care and cleaning, you can extend its life to 20-25 years. You could clean your carpets yourself with a carpet cleaning machine, but why not let us do it for you? We’ll even groom your carpets afterwards and protect them with a Dupont Teflon carpet protector, if you like. Professional cleanings can restore that new carpeting look and extend the life of your carpets, so don’t wait until they are visibly dirty to call a professional. Schedule regular professional carpet cleanings to protect your investment! Remember at A Personal Touch, we don’t cut corners, we clean them!

Carpet Ripples, Burns or Holes? We Offer Carpet Repair and Restretching Services

Let’s face it, ripples, burns, and holes in your carpet are just plain ugly – not only that, but they are tripping hazards, as well. The good news is these problems can be easily fixed by a professional.  Causes of Carpet Ripples We all know the causes of carpet burns or holes, but what about carpet ripples? The number one cause of rippling in carpet is poor installation. In order to save time, carpet installers will often use a knee kicker to tighten the carpet; this will result in the carpet “relaxing” after a relatively short time (usually 3 to 5 years). Proper carpet installation involves using a “power stretcher” to make sure the carpet is drum tight from the beginning. If your carpet is installed correctly, the chances of it rippling in the future are reduced. However, even if the carpet is installed properly, rippling can occur on occasion.  If the ripples grow tall enough to cause a tripping hazard, delamination can occur – the glue that holds the plastic backing to your carpet can dry out, and the backing can pull away from the carpet fibers.  The weather in Colorado can speed up the delamination process. High humidity in the spring and summer months can help the glue on your carpet to relax, while the drier air in the winter can cause the glue to dry out. In fact, here in Colorado we can go from a dry 10% humidity to 50% humidity in a season – this can wreak havoc on your carpet! Spills, floods and sitting water can also cause ripples, as can inadequate padding. If you spill something on your carpet, make sure to clean up the spot immediately following the manufacturer’s instructions. If you clean your carpets yourself, make sure they dry completely before putting any furniture back on them.  Although carpet ripples sometimes appear after cleaning, it is a myth that professional cleaning causes ripples. Occasionally ripples will occur after a professional cleaning; however, they are temporary, and will settle flat once the carpet is completely dry. If the ripples that occur after cleaning don’t go away, there is another underlying problem causing them. Our Carpet Repair and Restretching Services While carpet ripples, burns and holes are unsightly, they can be fixed fairly easily. Here at A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning, we’re experts at carpet repair and restretching! Here’s the process in a nutshell: First we determine what the issues are and how best to fix them Then we lift up the carpet from the tack strips that hold your carpet down from three sides of the room Finally we professionally restretch and/or replace carpet with our specialized equipment Carpet repair and restretching can extend the life of your existing carpet, and is much cheaper than purchasing new carpet. Our courteous, experienced technicians make the process easy, and you’ll have a carpet that’s flat, ripple-free, and beautiful! Carpet repair and restretching is a tricky business, but our trained technicians have the experience and know-how to get the job done right. This is not a do-it-yourself job – we use state-of-the-art techniques and tools that most homeowners don’t have.  With more than 30 years of experience, we deliver outstanding results at a competitive price. Tips to keep your furniture and upholstery fresh

The sky is a brilliant blue. The fragrant lilacs and roses are in full bloom. You’ve cleaned the barbecue and restocked your ceramic briquettes or loaded up on conventional charcoal. You’ve worked hard on your yard or patio and want to host a barbecue or friend get-together and have the family over for dinner. It’s truly summer in Colorado! As you celebrate the bounty of our glorious state with gatherings, make sure the inside of your house looks and smells as good as the outside.  Cushion patrol What do you usually do to usher in the freshness? Perhaps you air out the house, vacuum, dust, or give the windows a vinegar rinse? As you vacuum your floors, don’t forget to vacuum your upholstered furniture as well. Loads of odors and dirt can be trapped there. Remove cushions from couches and loveseats. As you do this, take note of which side of the cushion was facing up and what part of the couch or loveseat it occupied. We’ll circle back to this later. If it’s been awhile since you’ve cleaned the couch, have a small trash bag and box handy as you go. Place change, lost jewelry, socks (yes, sometimes that’s where they went!), and toys in the box. Throw away large food debris like popcorn and chips or wrappers in the bag. No shame! It happens to all of us.  Vacuum underneath the cushions thoroughly. Next, vacuum the arms, back and sides of each piece of furniture. If you have a sofa bed, this might be a good time to vacuum the mattress and check to see if used sheets need to be replaced for the next guest. Vacuuming the throw pillows is a great idea too. Once everything is clean, vacuum and replace the cushions, making sure to flip them over and rotate their positions as you go. This will ensure more even furniture wear and tear and prevent the dreaded “sofa divot,” that deep, broken down spot on Uncle Larry’s couch where you can tell he sat for 23 years! If you have upholstered dining room chairs or easy chairs, don’t leave them out. Entertainment room leather chairs can also be a treasure trove of leftover snack crumbs and coins. Now that you’ve done your summer spruce up (it feels good, doesn’t it?), you’ve likely become more acquainted with your upholstered furniture. Did you notice a particular couch or chair was pretty dingy or dull? Did getting your face close to the recliner make you want to gag because of an unpleasant, uh, odor? If so, consider regular professional upholstery cleaning. Professional cleaning can remove layers of dirt and brighten used furniture. Regular upholstery cleaning can also protect your health and safeguard your family from molds, bacteria, fungi, pollen, pollutants and tobacco smoke residue. Professional upholstery cleaning can even extend the life of your furniture and keep it looking newer.  Guest management Everything looks and smells great. Now you’re ready for the party, barbecue or book club. But what happens if Veronica decides to bring her beloved Schnauzer, Bowser, the night you are all supposed to discuss All the Light We Cannot See? Don’t let Bowser lounge on the sofa or the chairs you just cleaned. No. Down boy. Allowing pets on furniture, whether your own or Veronica’s, can further break down and soil your upholstery. The next time you host a barbecue and guests come in from the inevitable afternoon rain, make sure to clean up any spills that happen immediately. Blot the stain with a clean cloth, and if you’re not sure how to treat the particular stain, call A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning. We can give you phone advice that might just save your favorite chair. Click here for more spot removal advice. Certain types of stains like red wine, blood and oil can require professional cleaning for removal.  A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning services Parker, Castle Rock, Englewood, Littleton and more. Welcome Graduation Guests with Clean Carpets and Upholstery

When our kids graduate, it’s the culmination of years of hard work, family support, obstacles overcome and joy all rolled into one. That’s why so many parents, aunties, brothers and grandparents tear up when they hear “Pomp and Circumstance” float out of the speakers at the graduation ceremony. Graduation marks emotional growth as well as academic achievement. So, when it’s time to celebrate, it’s time to do it up big! You’ll need to order food to feed a crowd and maybe get one of those cakes with the graduate’s picture on it (though it’s a little strange to cut into). Before you stock up the party supplies, start with a good whole house spruce to welcome your guests. Deep clean the kitchen. Dust off the patio furniture and scrub the grill. Don’t forget to eliminate dust, germs, pollen and stains with a springtime carpet and upholstery cleaning too. Freshen up the carpet Let’s start with your carpeting. It’s one of the first things guests notice when you open your front door. If it’s in good shape, your guests may ask if they need to remove their shoes when entering. If it’s not, your guests may think all sorts of thoughts (What’s that smell? How old is that carpet?), but they won’t let you know what those are! Regular carpet maintenance can help ensure your house is inviting and it can also save you money. Of course, vacuum your carpet weekly to keep your carpet fibers in top shape. Then, hire a professional carpet cleaner to deep steam clean your carpets and upholstery. The care will restore your carpet texture and ensure your furnishings are renewed for guests. A Personal Touch steam cleaning technology removes nasty germs, even coronavirus, deep down into your carpet and upholstery fibers.  Our cleaning water is heated up to 230 degrees Fahrenheit. According to our industry guidelines, just 125 degrees Fahrenheit kills 98 percent of household germs including colds, flu and bed bugs. Our deep soil carpet cleaning with a potent truck-mounted steam cleaning system removes tough stains and odors, including cat and dog urine stains and smells. Sanitize the upholstery Dining room chairs, recliners, couches, loveseats, armchairs and throw pillows all need an occasional deep cleaning too. This will ensure your guests don’t encounter any surprises when sitting down to chat about impressive achievements and future plans. Remember the time your graduate had friends over for raucous games in the family room? The spills on the chairs are still there, as are the ones on the couch cushion that was just flipped over to hide them! Those are memories you don’t need to keep. Stains, dinginess and even pet odors can be removed with a thorough cleaning performed by A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning. Disinfecting and deodorizing after cleaning can help you keep your furniture looking newer longer too. Get in touch A Personal Touch can help you make your house extra welcoming for all the celebrations you’ll have this spring and summer in Denver, Parker and Littleton. Getting your home ready to sell

We live in one of the most beautiful states in the U.S. We are fifth in education, were voted the fifth best state to live in and we are tenth in healthcare. Home values continue to rise with the median home price hovering around half a million dollars. Perhaps you’d like to sell right now to capture all of the equity your home has stacked up over the past year. Homes are selling quickly, but how do you ensure the best offers and the quickest sale? Home buyers love clean, well-maintained real-estate. According to Redfin, a nationwide home brokerage site, getting rid of stains and odors in your home is one of the top 11 things you should do to get your home ready for the market. Redfin recommends walking out your front door and reentering your home like a buyer. Use all of your senses when you open your front door. What do you see? Are the floors scuffed? Is the carpet dingy? Do the stairs need some love? What do you smell? Old food odors? Pet urine or mustiness? A buyer will notice these odors even more because they’re not used to them. Getting the carpet cleaned Now that you’re looking at your house with a buyer’s eyes, you may notice the stained carpeting by the dining room table. A Personal Touch can help. We use a powerful truck-mounted steam cleaning system to remove tough stains and odors, including gum, tar, rust and pet stains and odors. After cleaning your carpets are groomed for a “new look” and can be protected with a Dupont Teflon carpet protector. A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaner offers carpet spotters and groomers for sale too so that you can maintain your fresh carpeting right up to the moment of sale. If you find you have unsightly wrinkles in your carpeting, we can restretch it for you. This can save you thousands of dollars in an offered carpet allowance to your buyer. Refinishing the floors If you have hardwood floors, think about getting them refinished. This usually means getting them sanded down to remove the original finish and stain, then restaining them and coating them with sealer. New, shiny floors are of incredible value when selling your home. Examining the bathrooms Looking at your bathrooms with new eyes can be a little uncomfortable. Do you see mold or mildew on the tile? Does the bathroom smell a little… used? We can help. Depending on how long it’s been since your tile grout was last cleaned, what you smell just might be an odor associated with the tiling. Grout can absorb moisture over time, which ultimately results in the accumulation of mold and mildew – the things responsible for that gross smell. You may have tried bleach to eliminate mold or other internet remedies. Have you noticed the results don’t last very long?    A Personal Touch can clean your tile and grout in with our proven process for a great price. We’ll apply commercial-grade grout and tile cleaner to your bathroom or kitchen tile areas. Professionally sealing your tile will make the tile easy to maintain in the future—your little gift to the next owners of your fresh-smelling home. Peeking into the kitchen One of the biggest selling points of a house is the kitchen. Buyers love updated, spacious, well-lit and sparkling kitchens. Do you have one? We can certainly help with the sparkle. The best way to keep your bathrooms and kitchen areas looking and smelling their best is with regular tile maintenance. A Personal Touch can help remove set-in stains, persistent odors, grime, scum and mildew. We also clean marble and granite countertops. If they have scratches or etching from acidic drinks such as orange juice, we have a company that we recommend for restoring them back to their original beauty. Noticing the details Redfin recommends going through your house and making a list of all the little things you would change if you were moving in. The little things count and they don’t have to cost a lot either. Replace all of your lightbulbs, add a mirror here or there to make a small space look bigger, clean and repair your home’s gutters and paint your baseboards. Your potential buyer will love you for all of these things and your home will sell that much faster. Calling the pros At A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning, we can help you get ready for the big sale. We are happy to answer any carpeting questions you might have and give you a free, written estimate without cost or obligation. Banish mold and mildew with regular tile and grout cleaning

Is your bathroom or kitchen a science experiment? When you take a bath or shower can you see blooms of orange around your shower pan or constellations of dark, fuzzy spots on the ceiling? Has your kitchen or another room in your home started to smell musty? Visible signs and tangible smells are good indicators that you have a mold or mildew issue in your home. What’s the difference between mold and mildew? The terms “mold” and “mildew” are often linked together much like “love” and “marriage” (and “horse” and “carriage”). But, which one is which? According to the Environmental Protection Association (EPA), “Mildew refers to certain kinds of mold or fungus.  The term mildew is often used generically to refer to mold growth, usually with a flat growth habit. Molds include all species of microscopic fungi that grow in the form of multicellular filaments, called hyphae.  Molds can thrive on any organic matter, including clothing, leather, paper, and the ceilings, walls and floors of homes with moisture management problems. Mildew often lives on shower walls, windowsills, and other places where moisture levels are high. There are many species of molds. In unaired places, such as basements, they can produce a strong musty odor.” No matter what kind of mold or mildew you have, the results can be unsightly. Mold and mildew can also cause health problems in at-risk individuals such as people with asthma. Disappointed with at-home grout cleaning? So, yes, the dirty little secret is out. Many of us have showers that don’t get properly ventilated and kitchen backsplashes that need lots of help. What to do? It’s hard to invite someone into your home to witness that mess, right? You may have tried to fix it yourself. Who hasn’t scoured the internet for ways to eliminate mold from drywall, tile or grout? You may have tried bleach to eliminate mold. Perhaps you’ve mixed vinegar and soda or employed borax with great hope? The problem is, scrubbing your shower with an old toothbrush can be gross. It also doesn’t work all that well or the results don’t last.    It can be difficult to ask for help. Rest-assured that we’ve seen it all at A Personal Touch. We can clean your tile and grout in Denver with our proven process for a great price. We’ll apply commercial-grade grout and tile cleaner to your bathroom or kitchen tile areas. Why spring is the perfect time for upholstery (and carpet) cleaning

Ever take a nap on your sofa on a Sunday? Maybe you’ve watched the game or an old western. Then, slowly you’ve nodded off blearily gazing at Clint Eastwood or the ceiling. A little while later, you wake up with a face full of sofa cushion. And maybe, just maybe, you also wake up wondering, “What is that smell?” It’s a little delicate. We do a LOT of living in our living rooms. Our pets drool on the couch (we do too) or bring us a drippy ball and set it on the ottoman. Some of us sit down on the upholstery after a dirty day at work, or spill beer and snacks on the couch during the big playoffs. Kids or our spouse use the family room recliner to get well from a broken rib or the flu. Soggy tissues clutter the armrests. Cold medicine is dripped on the upholstery. Cough drops get shoved into the cracks where they crumble and melt. And that’s not to mention the kid experiments that are brought in from the backyard that somehow end up on your favorite antique chair. Get back the newness Soon it will be sunny outside for keeps. You’ll be able to throw open the windows and air out the whole house. Ahhh, freshness! Spring is a time for big cleaning efforts for a reason. New growth will spring from the trees and flowers will poke their heads up from the earth outside. It’s a perfect time to renew your environment inside too. Professional upholstery and carpet cleaning with a truck-mounted steam cleaning system removes dirt, dust and grime and those little messes that build up from day-to-day living. That includes smells and dust trapped down deep in your upholstery. Protect your investments Your furniture and carpets are a valuable part of your house. You spent a lot of time picking them out or installing them. Sometimes furniture is passed down through the generations and is emotionally priceless too. Your possessions are worth the upkeep. They can serve you for years to come if you take care of them. That’s why it’s important to vacuum your sofas, loveseats and chairs regularly. Then, once a year or so make an appointment for professional upholstery cleaning to remove stains and grime. Keep the loveseat lovelier longer You could rent a cheap steam cleaning system to clean your upholstery yourself. But, what would you miss? A professional carpet and upholstery cleaner like A Personal Touch knows exactly how to clean a variety of fabrics from durable to delicate. Our technicians receive regular training and our company is certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration. We understand: Preparation.
