That’s why we are committed to help the Denver Rescue Mission provide Thanksgiving Meals to those who need it most. The Denver Rescue mission is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the homeless and needy in the Denver metro area, but they cannot do it alone. That’s why we are calling for donations to help the Denver Rescue Mission. Donations When you contribute to the Denver Rescue Mission, A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning will match your contribution up to $25. It only costs $1.92 for each Thanksgiving Meal, but anything provided helps! Some Facts about Homelessness Homelessness is more common than you think. Did you know that more than one-in-ten residents say they themselves have experienced homelessness, and one-in-five have come close to being homeless. Common causes that lead to homelessness are lack of jobs, rising rent costs, mental or physical health issues, or substance abuse*. The majority of the homeless are families and women, not single men. The Denver Foundation found that 53% of the homeless in the Denver Metro area are families, 42% of homeless are women, and the most common reason for homelessness is loss of a job, housing costs or family issues. How You Can Help Most Denver Metro residents say they offer, at minimum, acknowledgement or help when they see someone who is homeless. 38% of residents polled admitted to acknowledging the person, 30% admitted to offering food or money and the remaining did nothing or offered something different.
