Getting Ready to Sell Your House? Here are 11 Things Most People Forget to Do

You’ve started on your lists of small repairs, you’ve contacted a real estate agent, and now you’re in the final steps of getting ready to sell your house. But before you put your home up for sale, and certainly before having your first open house, here are 11 things to consider that most home sellers forget to think about and could cost you a sale. 1. Declutter and Organize Your Closets and Cabinets Sure, you went through your entire house and reduced the clutter in each room, organized your desk and other surfaces, and arranged your collection of antique ceramic kitty figurines to be facing perpendicular to the window. However, did you tackle your closets and cabinets? One thing you should definitely expect during an open house or individual home tours is that potential homebuyers will be looking in your closets, kitchen drawers and cabinets. Will your walk-in closet fit all of his shoes and her summer dresses? Is there enough storage space in your kitchen for their cookware, bakeware, and all the kitchen gadgets that they seem to collect each year? These are all questions homebuyers will be asking themselves as they walk through your home. Of course, you as a home seller will have no idea what the needs are of a potential homebuyer, but you can definitely showcase what your house has to offer in terms of storage. Start by decluttering your closets, cabinets, and drawers, and then keeping only enough belongings in each to really show off the potential that space has to offer. Think of it as an extension of staging your home, but for your storage areas. 2. Clean Stains and Eliminate Odors We should all consider small stains, marks, and other imperfections as badges of honor for a house that has been lived in for years. Nonetheless, these slight bumps and bruises your home has encountered over time will stick out to potential homebuyers, so tackle them head-on. Begin by trying to put yourself in the shoes of a potential homebuyer and look at your house objectively. Start by going outside and then re-entering your house as if you didn’t actually own it but were an interested homebuyer looking at it for the first time. What do you see? Walk through every room and take note of all the imperfections you notice. You might surprise yourself with how quickly your list grows. You can then add them to your list of repairs so you can make your house truly be at its best before your first open house. Also, if you have pets there is a strong possibility that your home has an odor which you can no longer smell. Deep cleaning your house is a sure fire way to help eliminate these odors, but also think about using an odor eliminating spray every day for about a week before your first open house. You can also place plugin room fresheners that offer a great crisp smell, like cucumber, to help infuse a sense of cleanliness throughout your house. 3. Replace Light Bulbs Walk through each room in your house and look at every light bulb to see if it’s working. As homeowners, we sometimes forget to immediately replace a lightbulb when it goes out. You want your house to be at its brightest when new homebuyers are touring your home and replacing old burnt out light bulbs is one of the easiest ways to do it. Also, don’t forget to walk around the outside of your house to make sure all the lights of your home’s exterior are working as well. Depending on the time of year, your open house or home tours could happen when the sun is going down or when it’s already dark. So be sure to make your house shine inside and out! Pro tip: Make sure all your light bulbs are the same color temperature inside your house as well as outside. A soft-white light LED bulb can create a bright but welcoming environment for new homebuyers. 4. Think About the Small Details: Plants, Mirrors, Rugs Consider each room’s individual characteristics, so you can really showcase the potential every room in your house can offer. Here are a few ideas to keep in mind while you start prepping every space for an exceptional open house experience. Add a little green to your spaces Nothing breathes life into a room more than a little greenery. A potted tree can work wonders in a living room, but for smaller areas think smaller plants such as a small potted herb garden in the kitchen or a miniature cactus on the mantel. Open up even the smallest rooms Mirrors can make small spaces seem large because they create the illusion of depth. Mirrors also work wonders in darker rooms as they reflect light deep into areas of a room that may not receive an abundance of natural light. Add character to an otherwise unimpressive space While staging your home, think about adding character to various spaces with rugs. However, keep in mind that you want to use rugs to enhance a space, not be the focal point of it. Also, if you have a strange space that you never really figured out a good use for, a rug could at least offer a little personality while leaving the space and its potential to the imaginations of homebuyers. 5. Enhance Your Outdoor Space You’re probably already aware that enhancing your curb appeal is one of the most impactful things you can do to create a great first impression. However, you don’t want to forget about your other outdoor areas, such as your front porch or entrance, your back entrance, side yard, and backyard. You want to enhance your outdoor spaces around the house so potential buyers can see themselves living as much outside your house as inside. Simple enhancements like placing potted plants to your front entrance or adding fresh beauty bark around the base of your hedges and trees can

The Importance of Carpet Restretching and Repairs
Battling Ripples, Bunching, and Delamination When it comes to home aesthetics and comfort, few things can rival the warmth and coziness of a well-maintained carpet. However, the passage of time, environmental factors, and everyday wear and tear can lead to issues like carpet ripples, bunching, and delamination. These problems not only mar the beauty of your home but also pose potential hazards. In this article, we will explore the importance of carpet restretching and repairs, as well as the hazards of neglecting these issues, especially in regions prone to high humidity, such as those affected by heavy rains or reliant on swamp coolers during the hot summer months. The Beauty of Carpets Carpets are more than just floor coverings; they are an essential part of our homes. They provide warmth, cushioning, and a welcoming ambiance. Whether you prefer plush, Berber, or a stylish pattern, your carpet reflects your personal style and adds character to your living space. However, maintaining that beauty over time can be a challenge. The Unwanted Guests: Ripples/Bunching and Delamination Carpet issues such as ripples, bunching, and delamination can disrupt the harmony of your living space and even pose dangers. Let’s delve into these problems: 1. Ripples: Carpet ripples occur when the carpet becomes loose and forms unsightly waves or wrinkles. These ripples are not only visually unappealing but can also be a tripping hazard, particularly for children, the elderly and those with mobility issues. Bunched-up carpets, like ripples, create uneven surfaces, making walking treacherous and causing potential injuries. Bunching/ripples often occur when the carpet is not properly stretched during installation or due to environmental factors. 2. Delamination: Delamination is a condition where the carpet’s layers separate, usually due to moisture infiltration. This can lead to a weakened carpet structure, reducing its longevity and durability. The Importance of Carpet Restretching and Repairs Now that we understand the problems, it’s crucial to emphasize the significance of carpet restretching and repairs. Here are a few compelling reasons to address these issues promptly: 1. Safety First: Safety should always be a top priority at home. Eliminating ripples and bunching prevents accidents caused by tripping and falling. Children playing or guests visiting your home will be safer on a well-maintained carpet. 2. Longevity: Regular maintenance, including restretching and repairs, can extend the life of your carpet. By addressing issues promptly, you can avoid the need for costly replacements in the future. 3. Aesthetics: Your home reflects your personality and style. A smooth, well-maintained carpet enhances the visual appeal of your living space, making it more inviting and comfortable. The Role of Humidity in Carpet Woes Humidity plays a significant role in exacerbating carpet problems, especially with Colorado seeing unprecedented rainfall this year or those relying on swamp coolers during hot summer months. Here’s how humidity affects your carpet: 1. Ripple Worsening: High humidity can cause carpet fibers to absorb moisture, leading to expansion. When the humidity level drops, the fibers contract, often causing ripples or waves in the carpet. This cycle can worsen existing ripples or create new ones. 2. Delamination: Excessive humidity can seep into the carpet layers, weakening the adhesive that holds them together. This can result in delamination, where the carpet’s layers separate, leaving you with a compromised and less durable floor covering. Conclusion Your carpet is more than just a floor covering; it’s a vital part of your home’s comfort and aesthetics. Neglecting issues like ripples, bunching, and delamination can lead to safety hazards and diminish the appeal of your living space. Furthermore, with the historic rainfall in Colorado this summer, these problems can be exacerbated, making regular maintenance even more critical. To keep your home safe, beautiful, and comfortable, consider professional carpet restretching and repairs when needed. Don’t let ripples, bunching, or delamination mar the beauty of your living space. Embrace the importance of a well-maintained carpet, and your home will thank you with years of comfort and style. How to Choose a Good Professional Carpet Cleaner
When it comes to maintaining a clean and healthy home, one essential aspect is keeping your carpets fresh and spotless. However, over time, carpets can accumulate dirt, stains, and allergens that regular vacuuming alone may not be able to remove. That’s when a professional carpet cleaner comes to the rescue. But how do you choose the right one? In this comprehensive guide, we will walk you through the essential factors to consider when selecting a good carpet cleaner. Reputation and Experience When it comes to inviting someone into your home to clean your carpets, trust is paramount. Start your search by considering the reputation and experience of the carpet cleaning company. Look for online reviews, testimonials, and ratings to gain insight into their track record. A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning has many positive reviews, customer feedback and a solid reputation so you can expect the highest quality service. Certification and Training A reliable carpet cleaning company should have trained technicians who are certified by recognized industry organizations. Look for certifications from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) or the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI). A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning technicians are IICRC trained, which ensures that our technicians are knowledgeable about the latest cleaning techniques and are equipped to handle various carpet types and situations. Services Offered Consider the range of services offered by the carpet cleaning company. While many companies specialize in steam cleaning or hot water extraction, others may provide additional services such as dry cleaning or carpet “shampooing”. A Personal Touch is not only your local professional carpet cleaner, we also provide carpet repair and carpet restretching services, so it’s important to consider if you also need these services. Cleaning Equipment and Products The quality of cleaning equipment and products used can greatly impact the effectiveness of the cleaning process. A reputable carpet cleaner will invest in professional-grade equipment and use safe and effective cleaning solutions. We use a powerful truck-mounted steam cleaning system to remove tough stains and odors and give your carpets a deep soil carpet cleaning. Pricing and Estimates Obtain detailed pricing information and ask for estimates from multiple carpet cleaning companies. Beware of exceptionally low prices, as they may indicate subpar service or hidden charges. A reliable company will provide a clear breakdown of costs and explain any additional fees for extra services or specific carpet conditions. We are happy to provide you with a no-obligation quote for your carpet cleaning services. Insurance and Guarantees Accidents can happen, even with the most experienced professionals. Ensure that the carpet cleaning company you choose has adequate insurance coverage (we do!). This protects you from liability in case of any damage to your property during the cleaning process. Additionally, inquire about any guarantees or warranties they offer. A reputable company will stand behind their work and be willing to address any issues that may arise, so we proudly offer a 100% money-back guarantee. Availability and Scheduling Consider the availability and scheduling options provided by the carpet cleaning company. Determine whether they can accommodate your preferred date and time for the cleaning appointment. Flexibility and promptness in scheduling demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction. Eco-Friendliness If environmental sustainability is important to you, look for a carpet cleaning company that uses eco-friendly practices. Ask about their cleaning solutions and whether they are biodegradable or non-toxic. Choosing a company that prioritizes eco-consciousness can help reduce your carbon footprint and contribute to a healthier environment. Since A Personal Touch uses the steam-method for cleaning your carpets, you don’t need to worry about harsh chemicals and it’s better for the environment. Customer Service Pay attention to the level of customer service provided by the carpet cleaning company. Are they responsive to your inquiries? Do they provide clear and thorough explanations? Excellent customer service indicates a commitment to ensuring your satisfaction throughout the entire cleaning process. Choosing a good carpet cleaner is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and longevity of your carpets. Consider A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning for your carpet cleaning needs. Upholstery Cleaning and Carpet Cleaning: A Match Made in Heaven
When it comes to professional carpet cleaning, many homeowners focus solely on their carpets. While carpets are certainly important, it’s essential to remember that your upholstery needs just as much attention as your floors. In fact, having your upholstery cleaned when you have your carpets professionally cleaned can be hugely beneficial. Here are just a few reasons why. Improving Indoor Air Quality Your upholstery is home to a wide variety of dust, dirt, and allergens. Over time, these particles can build up and become embedded in your furniture, leading to poor indoor air quality. This is especially true if you have pets, as pet dander and hair can get trapped in your upholstery fibers. When you have your carpets and upholstery cleaned at the same time, you can help remove these particles from your home, improving the air quality and making it easier for you to breathe. Extending the Life of Your Upholstery Upholstered furniture can be expensive to replace, so it’s important to take good care of it to ensure it lasts as long as possible. Regular cleaning can help extend the life of your upholstery by removing dirt and debris that can cause wear and tear over time. When you have your carpets and upholstery cleaned together, you can make sure that both are receiving the care they need to stay in good condition for years to come. Keeping Your Home Looking Its Best Let’s face it: dirty upholstery can make even the cleanest home look shabby. When you have your upholstery cleaned, you can refresh the look of your furniture and give your home a much-needed update. This is especially important if you’re planning to sell your home in the near future, as clean and well-maintained upholstery can help improve your home’s overall appearance and appeal to potential buyers. Removing Stubborn Stains Upholstery can be especially prone to staining, whether it’s from spilled food and drinks, pet accidents, or everyday wear and tear. Unfortunately, many stains can be difficult to remove without professional cleaning or the upholstery requires special care when removing stains. When you have your carpets and upholstery cleaned together, you can ensure that any stubborn stains are treated properly and thoroughly, leaving your furniture looking and smelling fresh. Saving Time and Money Having your carpets and upholstery cleaned separately can be time-consuming and expensive. By having them cleaned at the same time, you can save time and money while still getting the results you want. At A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning, in the month of March 2023, we are offering a free recliner cleaning when you have your carpets professionally cleaned (after the $180 minimum is met). Having your upholstery cleaned when you have your carpets professionally cleaned is a smart choice for homeowners who want to keep their homes clean, healthy, and looking their best. From improving indoor air quality to extending the life of your furniture, the benefits of regular upholstery cleaning are clear: It’s a match made in Heaven! So why not schedule your next cleaning appointment today? Your home (and your upholstery) will thank you! Remember at A Personal Touch, we don’t cut corners, we clean them!
How Often Should You Have Carpets Professionally Cleaned
Carpets are an essential part of any home decor, providing warmth, comfort, and beauty to any room. However, carpets can also harbor allergens, dirt, and bacteria, which can affect the indoor air quality and the health of your family. Regular vacuuming and spot cleaning can help to keep your carpets looking good, but it is essential to have them professionally cleaned on a regular basis. In this article, we will discuss why you should have your carpets professionally cleaned and how often they should be professionally cleaned. Why you should have your carpets professionally cleaned There are several reasons why you should have your carpets professionally cleaned. Here are some of the main reasons: Improved Indoor Air Quality Carpets act like a filter, trapping airborne pollutants, such as dust, pollen, and pet dander. Over time, these pollutants can accumulate in the carpet fibers, making the air in your home less healthy to breathe. Professional carpet cleaning can help to remove these pollutants, improving the indoor air quality in your home. Removes Stains and Odors Carpets can be subject to stains from spills and accidents, and these stains can be tough to remove with DIY methods. A Personal Touch professional carpet cleaners have specialized, truck-mounted steam cleaning systems that can effectively remove even the toughest stains, such as red wine, coffee, and pet urine. Professional carpet cleaning can also disinfect, deodorize and eliminate signs of pet damage that may be trapped in the carpet fibers. Extends the Life of Your Carpet Carpets are an expensive investment, and you want to ensure that they last as long as possible. Regular professional cleaning can help to extend the life of your carpet by removing dirt and debris that can cause wear and tear on the fibers. Additionally, professional carpet cleaning services can also help to prevent mold and mildew growth, which can damage the carpet and the underlying padding. Saves Time and Effort Cleaning carpets can be a time-consuming and labor-intensive task, especially if you have a large home or multiple carpets to clean. Professional carpet cleaning can save you time and effort, allowing you to focus on other tasks or activities and spend more time with your family. How often should you have your carpets professionally cleaned? The frequency of professional carpet cleaning will depend on several factors, including the amount of foot traffic in your home, the presence of pets and children, and the overall condition of your carpets. Here are some general guidelines for how often you should have your carpets professionally cleaned: Low Traffic Areas: If you have carpets in low traffic areas, such as bedrooms or guest rooms, you can have them professionally cleaned every 12 to 18 months. Medium Traffic Areas: Carpets in medium traffic areas, such as living rooms and dining rooms, should be professionally cleaned every 6 to 12 months. High Traffic Areas: Carpets in high traffic areas, such as hallways and entryways, should be professionally cleaned every 3 to 6 months. Homes with Pets and Children: If you have pets and children in your home, you should have your carpets professionally cleaned more frequently, as they are more likely to attract dirt, stains, odors and germs. For these homes, professional carpet cleaning should be done every 3 to 6 months, regardless of the traffic level. Professional carpet cleaning is an essential part of maintaining a healthy and beautiful home. By following these recommendations, you can ensure that your carpets remain clean and fresh for years to come. Carpet Cleaning: A Vital Element for a Healthy Home
The importance of a clean and hygienic home cannot be overemphasized. A clean home not only gives a feeling of comfort and well-being, but it also helps to prevent the spread of germs and illness. Carpets play a crucial role in determining the overall health of your household. However, they can easily become a breeding ground for bacteria, viruses, dust mites, and other allergens, which can pose a serious threat to the health of the inhabitants. This is where regular professional carpet cleaning comes into play. By removing dirt, grime, and harmful substances from your carpets, you can keep your family healthy and reduce the risk of illness. Dust Mites in Carpets One of the main reasons why carpets need to be cleaned regularly is to remove dust mites. Dust mites are tiny creatures that thrive in carpets and upholstery and can cause a range of health problems, including allergies, asthma, and other respiratory issues. Dust mites feed on the dead skin cells that we shed and can cause allergic reactions in some individuals. Professional carpet cleaning, by removing dust mites and their allergens from the carpet fibers, can help to keep your home healthier and reduce the risk of allergies and respiratory problems. Reduce Germs and Allergies Another reason why carpet cleaning is so important is that it helps to prevent the spread of germs. Carpets are exposed to all sorts of dirt, grime, and bacteria from foot traffic and spills. Especially if you allow shoes in your house! This means that carpets can easily become a breeding ground for germs and bacteria. Carpet cleaning, by removing these harmful substances, helps to reduce the spread of germs and keep your family healthy. Allergens are another major concern when it comes to carpets. Carpets can trap allergens like pet dander, mold spores, and pollen, leading to allergy symptoms like sneezing, itching, and watery eyes. Professional carpet cleaning removes the allergens and provides relief to those who suffer with allergies. Improves Indoor Air Quality Improving indoor air quality is another important reason why carpets need to be professionally cleaned regularly. Carpets can trap and hold onto dirt, dust, and other pollutants, affecting indoor air quality. Professional carpet cleaning removes these pollutants, improving the air quality in your home and reducing the risk of respiratory problems. This is particularly important for people who suffer from asthma and other respiratory problems, as indoor air pollution can trigger symptoms and make their condition worse. Regular professional carpet cleaning is essential for maintaining good health and preventing the spread of germs and illness. By scheduling a professional carpet cleaning service with A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning, you can take the first step towards creating a healthier home for you and your family. Have your carpets professionally cleaned by one of our IICRC trained professionals to create a safer and healthier environment for your family. A clean home is a happy home, so call for a quote or schedule your service today. Remember at A Personal Touch, we don’t cut corners, we clean them!
Professional Carpet Cleaning Is Good for Your Health
It’s a brand new year, and many people are making the resolution to get healthier in 2023. Eating right, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep – all of these things can improve your personal health. But have you ever thought about making your home healthy in the new year, as well? Dirty carpets can affect indoor air quality, which in turn can affect the health of our lungs. Here’s how professional carpet cleaning can help you improve the health of your home (and that of you and your family)! Removes Pollutants and Allergens Over time, carpets accumulate a variety of pollutants and allergens, including dust, dirt, pet dander, and mold spores. This is a particular problem in high traffic areas, where the dirt and other contaminants can get ground deep into the carpet fibers and become extremely difficult – if not impossible – to remove by just vacuuming. If you or someone in your family has allergies, asthma, or other lung conditions, these contaminants can make it hard to breathe. Professional carpet cleaning can remove these pollutants and allergens and improve the air quality in your home for you and your loved ones. Eliminates Bacteria and Germs In addition to dust and dirt, bacteria and germs lurk in carpets, especially in areas that get a lot of heavy use. Most professional carpet cleaning services utilize high-temperature water and specialized cleaning solutions to kill these microorganisms, thus helping to prevent the spread of illness. This is especially important during the cold weather months, when we’re spending a lot more time indoors! Reduces the Risk of Pests Pests such as fleas and dust mites are a major health hazard; they thrive in dirty carpets and can cause allergies and other respiratory problems. Fleas can also bite and cause skin irritations. Keeping your pet up-to-date on its flea medication will help, but to rid your carpet of both fleas and dust mites, your best bet is to have it professionally cleaned. Extends the Life of Your Carpet Your carpeting is a major investment in your home – keeping it clean beyond just vacuuming will not only make your home healthier, it will extend the life of your carpet by removing built-up dirt, dust, and grime that can wear down the fibers. You won’t need to replace your carpets as often, saving you a significant amount of money in the long run. Get Your Carpets Ready for the Holidays
It’s December, and the holidays are upon us! With the holiday season we welcome friends, family and guests of all shapes and sizes to our homes (along with a few furry friends, as well). Parties and get-togethers are a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays, but all that extra foot traffic can wreak havoc on your carpeting. So how can you protect your carpets this time of year? Here are a few suggestions. Remove Your Shoes Upon Entering Your Home Shoes can track in dust, dirt and debris from outdoors, all of which make your carpets look dirty and dingy. In our humble opinion, the number one way to keep your carpeting looking its best is to take off your shoes when you enter your home. Keeping shoes out of the house will prevent dirt and debris from accumulating in your carpets and getting into the carpet fibers. Shoes can also bring in pollen, bacteria, and germs from outdoors, which can aggravate asthma and other respiratory problems in some people. Taking off your shoes and wearing just socks (or going barefoot) may therefore help improve the quality of the air in your home and keep respiratory issues at bay. As a reminder to remove your shoes, keep a shoe rack near each door or entryway. Make sure your guests take off their shoes, as well. We suggest keeping several pairs of slippers available for your guests to wear when they visit if they don’t want to wear just socks. Vacuum Regularly Regular vacuuming will pick up larger dirt and debris, so be sure to do it at least once a week, or more often if your carpets get especially dirty from day to day. High traffic areas will probably need to be vacuumed more often. Oh, and while you have the vacuum cleaner out, don’t forget to vacuum the upholstery – you’ll want to make sure your furniture is clean and tidy for guests, as well. Cover High Traffic Areas Carpeting can become matted and less plush in high traffic areas, resulting in an old, tired look. You can place floor mats and rugs in these areas to prevent matting and help keep the carpeting from looking worn. Bonus: Using floor mats and rugs will also help dirt, debris and germs from getting ground into the carpet fibers in high traffic areas. Consider Using a Protective Spray A protective spray can help carpeting stay cleaner, brighter, and fresher by repelling soil and dirt. It’s best to apply the spray after a professional cleaning. The treatment will generally last about two or three years, after which it can be reapplied by a professional carpet cleaning company. Get Regular Professional Carpet Cleaning Speaking of carpet professionals, a professional cleaning will help your carpets look as good as new and ready to welcome guests into your home for the holidays! Here at A Personal Touch Carpet Cleaning Services, we pride ourselves on providing top-notch cleaning services – not only do we clean carpets, but we clean upholstery and area rugs, too. How to Remove Candle Wax From Carpet
There’s a chill in the air and the leaves have fallen off the trees – these are signs that winter is on the way, and with it the holiday season. Now that it’s getting colder, it’s tempting to light a few candles. After all, what’s not to love about candles? Their ambiance and scent can make any home feel warm, cozy and inviting. There’s a downside to candles, however, aside from the fire hazard – melted candle wax can drip onto your furniture or carpets if you’re not careful. So what can you do to remove candle wax from carpet? Here are the steps you need to take to prevent that melted candle wax from becoming a permanent stain. 5 Simple Steps to Remove Candle Wax from Carpet 1. The first thing you want to do is to get the melted candle wax to harden as quickly as possible. Grab an icepack, a bag of ice, or even a bag of frozen vegetables and use it to freeze and harden the wax. This will help to keep the wax from seeping further down into the carpet fibers, which will make it even more difficult to remove. 2. Once the wax has hardened, scrape as much of it off as you can with a butter knife or other dull object (don’t use anything sharp – you could end up cutting the carpet fibers). You can even break off the larger chunks of wax and scrape the rest off as best as you can. 3. Get out your vacuum cleaner and vacuum up the wax pieces. Still have wax in the carpet fibers? Try using heat to get the rest of it out. 4. For this step, you’ll need an old (but clean) cloth or T-shirt, if you can spare one. Otherwise you can use a paper towel or brown paper bag. You’ll also need to use an iron set to the lowest heat setting. Put the cloth, T-shirt, towel or paper bag on the wax and slowly run the iron on top of it. The heat from the iron will soften the wax, while the cloth or paper will help draw the wax out of the carpet fibers. You may need to do this step more than once to get all of the wax out. Remember to put the hot iron on a book or baking sheet to prevent it from burning your carpet if you accidentally knock the iron over. We have repaired burned carpets from hot irons, so this step is critical! 5. If the above steps fail to remove the melted wax from the carpet, then call A Personal Touch for professional carpet cleaning. We serve the Denver metro area including Littleton, Parker, Castle Rock and more! We use a powerful truck-mounted steam cleaning system that can help remove not only candle wax from your carpets, but also gum, tar, rust, pet stains and odors. We also offer upholstery cleaning services, so if you’ve spilled candle wax on a sofa or chair, we can clean that, too. Having your carpeting professionally cleaned once a year is your best bet for keeping it clean and allergen-free all year long. If you’re due for a professional cleaning, contact us today so that your home will be ready to welcome your holiday visitors! Remember at A Personal Touch, we don’t cut corners, we clean them!
